Named for the apostle St. James the Great, St. James Catholic Elementary School opened its doors in St. Catharines in 1963 to serve families in the growing north end.
Led by a team of professional Catholic educators who provide excellence in Catholic education, St. James Catholic Elementary School is a caring, inclusive space where students and staff live their faith in all that they do.
Today, approximately 215 students attend St. James Catholic Elementary School from kindergarten through Grade 8. Before and after-school childcare is available at St. James through the YMCA.
The home of the Skyhawks (future Saint Francis Phoenix), St. James Catholic Elementary School is part of the Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School family of schools and the St. Denis parish community.
